The Jerusalem Post quoted an informed source – today, Monday, as saying that officials in the administration of US President Donald Trump believe that the time has become appropriate to reach a comprehensive deal that leads to the launch of all “hostages” and an end to the war in the Gaza Strip.

The same newspaper stated – quoting the same source – that the communications continued during the past two days between Israel and the mediators in Qatar and Egypt with the aim of reviving negotiations, noting meetings held by the American special envoy to the Middle East Steve Wittouf with senior Qatari officials several times on the Italian island of Sardinia.

The Fox News Network quoted – at the morning of Sunday – from the envoy, and its confirmation of the return of negotiations with Hamas to its path after a period of stumbling. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio added – in statements to the network – that great progress was achieved in the negotiations on Gaza, expressing his hope to reach a ceasefire that includes the release of half of the “hostages” immediately, then the release of the rest with the end of the 60 -day period.

“The solution to what is happening in Gaza is very simple,” said Rubio.

In the same context, the 14 Israeli channel quoted an Israeli political official as confirming that negotiations with Hamas are still continuing, after the Israeli delegation left the Qatari capital, Doha, last Thursday after receiving a response from Hamas to a proposal related to the prisoner exchange and ceasefire deal. Official sources in Tel Aviv described the response as “negative”, noting that the gaps are still large and require difficult decisions.

6 members of the American Congress called – in a joint statement – the Trump administration to pressure Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in order to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the release of prisoners, describing the humanitarian conditions in the Strip as “horrific and unacceptable.”

Meanwhile, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper quoted a senior Israeli official as saying that the military operation in Gaza may enter a “more escalating” stage if there is no significant progress in the negotiations, adding that the Israeli army may resort to creating a “real military threat in certain areas” as a means of pressure in order to reach a partial deal with Hamas.

Hamas: It does not make sense to continue negotiations

On the other hand, the head of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip, Khalil al -Hayya, revealed that the resistance leadership was surprised by the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from the last round of negotiations, despite the clear progress that has been achieved and largely compatible with what the brokers offered.

In the face of this development, the serpent announced that “there is no sense to continue negotiations under siege, genocide and starvation” for children, women and people of the Gaza Strip.

In a detailed review of the path of negotiations, the serpent – during a speech on the island’s screen – explained that the resistance leadership provided all possible flexibility within 22 months of arduous negotiations, in which the interests of the people and their blood injections were placed in its eyes, and they responded to the mediators in all stations.

Based on these ongoing efforts, he stressed that the last round witnessed clear progress and great agreement, especially in the file of withdrawal, prisoners and entry of aid, with receiving positive responses from the occupation.

However, the surprise came, according to the serpent, when the Zionist occupation withdrew from the negotiating round, with which the American President’s envoy to the Middle East, Steve Whitchov, was held in a move described by the serpent as “exposed exposed” that aims to “burn time” and more extermination of the Palestinian people.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has launched a large -scale military operation in Gaza, which resulted in tremendous destruction and catastrophic humanitarian situation, amid wide international condemnation and demands for an immediate cessation of fighting.
