New excavations uncover a sanctuary with blue walls in Pompeii.

Archaeologists found oyster shells on site which apparently had to be ground for a plaster or mortar mixture.

Blue is a color rarely used in the frescoes of Pompeii.

The eight square meter room must have been used for rituals or to store sacred objects.

On the walls, female figures represent the four seasons of agriculture.

Fifteen transport amphorae were also found on site.
