According to a conversation on Instagram that took place between the Palestinian activist and “Abi Julia,” one of the old woman’s neighbors, he said: “My cousin, who lives in the back street behind her, spoke to me and informed me that members of the Israeli army sniped at her at the door of her house.”
Al-Jaafrawi re-published a video of himself with the elderly woman, which he had posted on October 22, while holding her identity card, saying: “You, Hajjah, were born in 1944, meaning you are older than Israel.”
The elderly woman was injured in an Israeli bombing of her home and was admitted to the hospital for treatment of fractures in her hands and a minor injury to her face.
At that time, the old lady appeared with the photojournalist who went to visit her in the hospital, and she was sitting with one of her relatives. He flirted with her beautiful eyes, saying: “I’m coming to look at you, your eyes are crazy blue and honey,” to which she responded shyly, “Green, not blue.”
During the clip, Al-Jaafrawi took out her birth certificate and said to her: “You were born in 1944, meaning you were born before the Nakba. You are older than Israel.” The elderly woman replied, “Of course, of course,” and Saleh said, “Palestine is our land that was usurped from them,” and the old woman responded, “I am holding on to the land.” I will not leave her.”
The Nakba is a term that symbolizes the mass forced displacement in 1948 of more than 750,000 Palestinians from their homes and lands.
75 years ago, the Zionist movement – with the support of Britain – succeeded in controlling most of Palestine by force of arms and declaring the establishment of Israel.
Since last October 7, the Israeli occupation army has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, which as of Thursday evening has left 17,177 people dead, in addition to 46,000 wounded, in addition to massive destruction of infrastructure and an “unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe,” according to official sources. Palestinian and international.
According to the United Nations Population Fund, about 70% of those killed in Gaza were women and children.
