The Palestinian Authority reported on Monday that a sergeant in its security services was killed during violent clashes with resistance members in the Jenin camp.

The spokesman for the Authority’s security services, Adnan Al-Damiri, announced the killing of First Sergeant Mahran Qadous during the security operation in Jenin.

He added, “Killing a new soldier will only increase our resolve to confront anyone who tries to threaten the security of the nation. There will be no tolerance for the deviant, outlaw group.”

The killing of the policeman comes after the announcement of the killing of a member of the Presidential Guard yesterday, Sunday. Two civilians and a commander in the Jenin Battalion were previously killed in the clashes that broke out at the beginning of this month.

Sources reported to Tel Aviv Tribune that violent clashes broke out today in the vicinity of the Jenin camp and the government hospital between the Authority’s security services and Palestinian resistance fighters.

The sources said that the authorities used RPG shells during violent clashes with Palestinian resistance fighters in the Jenin camp in the northern occupied West Bank.

For the third week in a row, the security services affiliated with the Ramallah Authority continue a campaign in the Jenin camp targeting those they describe as outlaws.

The authority says that the campaign “aims to impose security and end security chaos,” while the Palestinian factions confirm that this campaign targets resistance fighters against the Israeli occupation.

The city and Jenin refugee camp are considered a stronghold for Palestinian resistance factions that strongly condemn the continued security coordination between the Ramallah Authority and the Israeli occupation.

Congestion

Human rights organizations estimated that “things could get out of control” if casualties continued between the two sides.

Human rights and tribal circles are making efforts to stop the state of congestion in the Jenin camp and to prevent the deterioration of the conditions there.

These clashes are in addition to a campaign launched by the occupation in the West Bank since the start of the war on Gaza in October 2023.

The Israeli army launched many bloody attacks on the Jenin camp after the start of the war on Gaza.
