A Norwegian artist mourns the martyrs of Gaza…in memory of the martyr of Sicily, Saint Lucia Mirror

The Norwegian artist “Nosizwe” took advantage of the Scandinavian churches’ celebration of the day commemorating the killing of the Sicilian martyr, Saint Lucia, and sang a hymn about the women martyrs of Gaza, accompanied by the choir of the Lutheran Church of Norway.

Nosizwe stood, crowned with candles and wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh, singing for the martyrs of Gaza, eulogizing them and denouncing the war of genocide against the Palestinian people. She showed pictures of the martyrs crying.

Lucia and the women of Palestine

“Nosizwe” said on her Instagram account: “I wanted to show our support for the brave Palestinian women who raise their tools for Palestine, represented here by journalists Hind Khudari, Belistia Al-Aqd, and Bisan Odeh.”

It is noteworthy that Lucia, whose death is commemorated in churches, was a Christian woman who was killed during Christian persecution during the reign of Emperor Diocletian in Rome, during the so-called Dark Ages.

4 female martyrs from Gaza

In the video prepared by activists and content makers in solidarity with Palestine, images of the martyrs, poet Heba Abu Nada, music teacher Ilham Farah, journalist Ayat Khadura, and the doctor on duty, Bisan Halasa, were shown to honor them and confirm that they are stories that must be told and not forgotten.

Martyr Heba: Oxygen is not for the dead

Heba Abu Nada was martyred on Friday, October 20, 2023, in the events of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.

The Palestinian Ministry of Culture mourned her in a statement that said: “The writer and poet Heba Kamal Abu Nada dies as a martyr as a result of the ongoing aggression against our people in Gaza.”

Wahba Kamal Saleh Abu Nada (1991-2023) is a Palestinian writer, poet, and storyteller from the displaced village of Beit Jirga. She lived in the Gaza Strip. She mortgaged what she wrote to be a spokesperson for the Palestinian cause and its pain. Among her works is “Oxygen is not for the dead.”

It is ironic that the last thing Wahba wrote on her page was: “We in Gaza are not in the eyes of God between a martyr and a witness to the liberation, and we are all waiting for where we will be. We are all waiting, O God, for your true promise.”

Music inspiration joy on the road

Elham Hanna Farah, a 75-year-old retired music teacher and resident of Gaza, bled to death in front of a church from an Israeli sniper who wounded her in the foot, and the occupation forces refused to allow ambulances to reach her.

Activist Maya conveyed the details of the incident and said: “When her colleagues in the church tried to help her, the Israeli forces threatened to kill anyone who would leave the church to save her, so they were forced to leave her to die slowly in the street.” Maya commented on the video, asking: “What sin did I commit?”

Azza Rizkallah – Elham’s niece – used social networking sites in an attempt to save her aunt Elham, as she published a post on Facebook in which she asked for help for her aunt, who was injured in her leg due to being shot by Israeli forces, and called for help from everyone who could help her.

Social networking sites were filled with sadness, bidding farewell to Elham, and denouncing the crimes of the occupation, as a large number of social media users reacted to the news of her martyrdom.

Activist Nadine commented, saying: “Aren’t you Elham, as you like to say, ‘Elham Farah is a martyr?’ One of Gaza’s icons in culture, science, and awareness. How beautiful you are. We will always pray for you and talk about you.”

Activist Jawad commented, saying: “For more than 24 hours she was bleeding. She died very slowly. She died alone without anyone helping her. The elderly Elham Farah was a Christian from Gaza, Gaza, where the criminal Israeli distributes murder without distinguishing between a Muslim and a Christian.”

The latest video of Ayat Khadura

Journalist Ayat Omar Ayoub Khadura (27 years old) was martyred after the Israeli occupation aircraft targeted her family’s home in the town of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip.

Ayat worked as a digital content and podcast presenter, and the Filastiniyat Organization published the last video she published before her martyrdom, in which she documented the last moments she lived in her home in Beit Lahia. She said: “This could be my last video. Today the occupation dropped phosphorous bombs on the Beit Lahia project area, and frightening sound bombs, and dropped leaflets to evacuate the area.”

The martyr continued: “Of course, almost the entire area was evacuated. All the people ran into the streets like crazy, and no one knew where to go. Only me and a group of others remained in the house. The situation is very scary, the scene is very terrifying, what is happening is difficult… Oh Lord, have mercy on us.”

A missile extinguished the dream of Bisan Halasa

As for the martyr Bisan Halasa, her Palestinian friend Nour Naim, a lecturer at the Turkish Gebze Technical University, wrote about her. She said: Dr. Bisan (19 years old) is a student in the third year of the Faculty of Medicine. She was outstanding in all areas. She was fluent in English, and her average in high school was 98.7. She loved horses and reading books. She dreamed of owning a small house in a quiet place, surrounded by nature and trees.

Then Nour said, addressing the martyr Bisan: I congratulate you that you now own this house in heaven.
