Six passengers and six cabin crew were injured by turbulence on a flight between Qatar and Ireland on Sunday.

In a statement, Dublin Airport Authority (daa) said: “Qatar Airways flight QR107 from Doha landed safely as planned at Dublin Airport shortly before 1:00 p.m.

Six passengers and six cabin crew on board were injured after the plane experienced turbulence while flying over Turkey.

Daa said the plane was met by emergency services, including airport police and the fire and rescue service upon landing.

Fatal Singapore Airlines crash

One person died on board a London-Singapore flight which encountered severe turbulence, Singapore Airlines announced on Tuesday. The plane apparently plunged for several minutes before being diverted to Bangkok, where rescue teams rushed to help injured passengers amid stormy weather.

Tracking data captured by FlightRadar24 and analyzed by The Associated Press showed the Singapore Airlines flight was flying at an altitude of 37,000 feet (11,300 meters). Just after 0800 GMT, the Boeing 777 suddenly and sharply nosedived at 31,000 feet (9,400 meters) within about three minutes, the data showed.

While deaths linked to turbulence are rare, injuries have accumulated over the years. Some meteorologists and aviation analysts note that cases of turbulence are also increasing and point out the potential impact of climate change on flying conditions.
