A military expert enumerates the reasons for the success of the resistance in Gaza in combating the occupation news

Military expert Elias Hanna said that the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip has moved to guerrilla warfare, enumerating the reasons for its success in continuing to fight the Israeli occupation army for more than a year.

Hanna explained – during his talk to Tel Aviv Tribune – that the transition of the resistance in Gaza to guerrilla warfare means that the matter “does not require a military structure, nor does it require fighting at the level of a military battalion, brigade, etc.”

He explained that the resistance succeeded in adapting to the field conditions and the new reality, recalling what Israel claimed that it “killed approximately 14,000 Gazan fighters out of 30,000,” which are numbers that were not confirmed by the resistance factions.

According to the military expert, the resistance in Gaza fights with “small units but with great freedom,” as each combat unit operates in a geographical area that it knows completely.

Hanna enumerated the reasons for the resistance’s success in combating the Israeli forces, including the availability of combat weapons, including explosive devices, anti-tank missiles, and sniper rifles.

He added that the human supply of fighters is still available, with the presence of a safe haven for resistance fighters in Gaza, in addition to the presence of an underground tunnel network.

Fighting is still raging in the northern Gaza Strip governorate after the occupation army began, on October 6, a new military operation in Jabalia under the pretext of “preventing the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) from regaining its power in the region.”

Israeli Army Radio announced – 3 days ago – the withdrawal of the 460th Brigade from Jabalia Camp, and the retention of the 401st Brigade and the Givati Infantry Brigade.

A week ago, the Israeli Ministry of Defense reported that 890 soldiers and officers of the army, police, and security services had been killed since the attack on October 7, 2023.

The Ministry of Defense said that the number includes Israeli army soldiers, police officers, Internal Security Service (Shin Bet) fighters, and settlement security guards, as well as those killed on the Gaza, Lebanon, and West Bank fronts.

It stated that the vast majority of deaths fell on the Gaza front, whether in the attack on October 7 or during the ground operations continuing to this day.
