A young Palestinian man was killed by Israeli occupation forces’ bullets and others were injured in the occupied West Bank during Israeli incursions, while the occupation forces bombed the family home of a Palestinian prisoner and arrested a freed prisoner.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said that the occupation forces shot the Palestinian young man at the Enab checkpoint near Tulkarm in the northern West Bank, and prevented medical teams from reaching him until he was martyred.
The Ministry explained that the occupation forces shot the young man Karim Nashaat Kamal Ayesh (21 years old), under the pretext of attempting to carry out a shooting attack on Israeli soldiers.
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation claimed that Israeli soldiers shot a young Palestinian man who tried to shoot at them at the Enab checkpoint near Tulkarm, killing him.
Storms and arrests
At dawn on Wednesday, Israeli occupation forces stormed the city of Nablus, Al-Ain camp, and neighboring towns and villages in the northern West Bank.
It was reported that a number of Palestinians were injured by bullets from the occupation forces during the ongoing raids, and activists reported that Israeli soldiers arrested a young man after storming his home in Al-Ain camp.
Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent said that a young Palestinian man was shot by the Israeli occupation army in the town of Ya’bad, southwest of the city of Jenin in the West Bank, during the occupation army forces’ storming of the town.
The reporter added that the occupation soldiers opened fire on every object moving in the neighborhoods of the town, which resulted in the young man being injured by a bullet in his foot, after which he was transferred to the hospital to receive treatment.
He also reported that the occupation forces blew up the family home of prisoner Basil Shehadeh in the town of Urif in the northern West Bank.
Many cities and towns in the West Bank are subjected to daily raids and raids on the homes of Palestinian citizens by the occupation forces under the pretext of searching for wanted persons.
The funeral of a martyr in Arraba
Also in the West Bank, large numbers of residents of the town of Arraba (southwest of the city of Jenin) mourned the body of the 17-year-old martyr, Yamen Hasiti.
Mourners chanted angry slogans denouncing the occupation’s continuing crimes against Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
The boy, Hasiti, was injured by bullets from the occupation forces during confrontations that broke out between Palestinian youths and Israeli army forces during their storming of the town of Arraba. Then the occupation forces seized the ambulance that was carrying him, and left him bleeding inside.
Arrest of a freed prisoner
Also in the West Bank, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said that the Israeli occupation arrested a Palestinian boy yesterday, Tuesday, in the city of Jericho, who had been released as part of an exchange deal between the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Israel during the temporary truce in the Gaza Strip late last November.
The club said – in a statement – that the occupation authorities arrested the 17-year-old boy, Youssef Abdullah Al-Khatib, after he was summoned by the occupation intelligence, and pressured him to surrender himself.
Thus, Al-Khatib is the first liberated prisoner to be re-arrested by the occupation from among the children and boys who were released as part of the exchange deal that took place last November.
In its statement, the club denounced the arrest of the boy, and said that it was a dangerous step and a clear violation of the release deals that had been concluded, and an indication that the occupation had returned to practicing the policy of re-arresting ex-detainees as part of the release deals.
The Prisoner’s Club said that Al-Khatib’s arrest is reminiscent of the re-arrest of those released in the Wafa al-Ahrar deal concluded in 2011 between Hamas and Israel.
The club stressed the need for the intervention of the countries through which the deal was brokered, to put pressure on the occupation and prevent it from prosecuting and arresting the liberators.
