Beirut- The Islamic Group in “Taalbaya Al-Bekaa” carried out the funeral of the martyr Mahmoud Shaheen, in the presence of thousands of mourners, led by the Governor of the Bekaa, Sheikh Rami Al-Zammar, in addition to the official of national relations for the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Lebanon, Ayman Shana, and Ali Abu Yassin, deputy head of the political office of the Islamic Group in Lebanon.

The Mufti of Zahle and the Bekaa, Sheikh Ali Al-Ghazawi, also participated in the funeral, along with delegations and Islamic figures who came from different regions in Lebanon. The road was blocked at the Taalabaya intersection in both directions in front of the Omar bin Al-Khattab Mosque while the funeral procession was passing, and the Lebanese and Palestinian flags were raised.

“Certificate Project”

The Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Group in Lebanon, Bassam Hammoud, said – in an interview with Tel Aviv Tribune Net – “We and the Hamas movement are two sides of the same coin in confronting the Zionist enemy, and we pledged to the martyrs to continue on the path until the truth is achieved, the occupation is defeated, and the land is liberated.”

He added, “The rise of the martyrs Shaheen and Bashasha in the crime of assassinating the leader Sheikh Saleh Al-Arouri confirms the mixing of Lebanese blood with Palestinian blood in confronting the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon, just as hands and guns intertwined in the field.”

Hammoud stressed that they are continuing the resistance march, and that the crime has not deterred them. They consider that “each of them is a project of martyrdom in this path that they voluntarily chose to promote the word of God and liberate their homelands.”

Shaheen and Bashasha are considered the first martyrs of the Islamic Group in the Al-Arouri assassination since the start of Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” on October 7, 2023. The group has previously announced more than once the launch of missiles from southern Lebanon towards Israeli sites and colonies in the Western Galilee without any falling. Martyr or wounded.

“Fuel of resistance”

Hammoud explains that the rise of martyrs is not a measure of the extent of intervention in the battle, because the group “participates in confronting the Zionist aggression against the south, and it supports our people in Gaza, so it is natural that martyrs fall for us, and this is the tax of resistance that we have chosen as a path for us to achieve our goals.”

The Islamic leader continues: “Knowing that our resistance began since the occupation of Palestine and has continued at all stages, it is not linked to individuals, but rather to confronting the criminal enemy and preventing its attacks.”

The deputy head of the political bureau of the Islamic Group in Lebanon adds: “Contrary to what the Zionist enemy believes that such assassination operations may discourage us from continuing the resistance, the blood of the martyrs is the fuel of the resistance and increases the resolve of the Mujahideen to take revenge and avenge the innocent martyrs who were killed by the Zionist killing machine in full view.” From the whole world.”

The Islamic Group carried out the funeral of the martyr Shaheen – this Wednesday afternoon – in the Grand Mosque in Taalabaya, and will be buried next Friday in Sidon, in order to participate tomorrow, Thursday, in the funeral of the martyr leader Saleh Al-Arouri in Beirut.
