Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al -Safadi, his Syrian counterpart, Asaad Al -Shaibani, and the American ambassador to Turkey, held a special envoy to Syria Tom Brak, three talks today, Saturday, in Amman, which dealt with the situation in Syria, and the efforts to establish a ceasefire that was carried out on the province of As -Suwayda, according to the Al -Jazeera correspondent in Jordan.
During the meeting, Al -Safadi and Barak confirmed their support for the ceasefire and the Syrian government’s efforts to implement it.
They also stressed the Kingdom and the United States standing and their full solidarity with Syria, its security, stability, sovereignty, safety, territorial integrity and safety of its citizens, stressing that Syria’s security and stability is a pillar of the region’s stability, according to what was stated in the Jordanian Foreign Ministry statement.
Al -Safadi, Al -Shaibani and Barak agreed on steps aimed at supporting Syria in implementing the agreement.
The steps included issues related to the confirmation of the ceasefire, the deployment of the Syrian security forces in the As -Suwayda Governorate, the release of the protesters on all parties and the efforts of societal reconciliation in the province, the promotion of civil peace, and the introduction of humanitarian aid.
Al -Safadi and Barak also welcomed the Syrian government’s commitment to holding all those responsible for abuses against citizens in the As -Suwayda Governorate, and supporting efforts to reject violence, sectarianism and hatred.
For his part, Al -Shaibani valued the role and efforts of Jordan and the United States in reaching a ceasefire and its implementation efforts, and ensuring the security and stability of Syria and the safety of its citizens.

The Syrian presidency announced – earlier today – an immediate and comprehensive standing of fire in As -Suwayda and the start of the security forces in a number of areas of the governorate, warning of any breach of the ceasefire that will consider it a “violation of sovereignty.”
