The French representative from the Proud France party, Thomas Portes, called for awarding the Nobel Peace Prize for the year 2024 to workers in the health sector in Gaza.

He added in his blog post on the X platform that Israeli war criminals are killing the Palestinian people.

He called on everyone to take action to award the Nobel Peace Prize for the year 2024 to workers in the health sector in Gaza.

The French parliamentarian attached his post to a link to a campaign to support this proposal, calling for its signing.

The campaign’s official website (www.change.org) highlighted the humanitarian situation and destruction taking place in the Gaza Strip, and the difficult conditions that health sector workers there live in while performing their duties.

He pointed out that health workers in the Gaza Strip continue their duties despite the air strikes and destruction.

He also reported the killing of 267 health sector workers in Gaza, and the kidnapping and loss of more than 40 others since the beginning of the last war until December 4, 2023. The campaign has so far received the signatures of 65,920 supporters.

Since last October 7, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, which, as of Saturday, has left 22,722 martyrs and 58,166 injured, most of them children and women, massive destruction of infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.
