Activists in the Irish capital, Dublin, organized a protest against the “Nimbus” project between Israel and the technology giant Google.
Protesters gathered outside Google’s European headquarters to denounce the $1.2 billion deal with Israel.
The demonstrators demanded that Google end the agreement, chanting slogans such as “Boycott Israeli goods,” “No to technology for apartheid,” and “No to Nimbus.”

Project Nimbus is a controversial $1.2 billion cloud computing and artificial intelligence deal between the Israeli government and two technology companies, Google and Amazon.
The project provides cloud services to the Israeli military, allowing for increased surveillance and illegal data collection on Palestinians, and facilitating the expansion of illegal settlements.
Anadolu Agency quoted Carmel Delaney, a member of the Kildare Palestine Solidarity Association, as saying that she was participating in the protest because she and the other participants “are deeply concerned that technology is being used to support genocide in Palestine.”
She added, “We are here today to show solidarity with more than 50 Google employees who were fired in the United States for taking a stand for humanity.”
She also expressed deep concern that Project Nimbus could be used to “support the first AI-powered genocide.”
Google has fired 50 of its employees in the United States, where its headquarters are located, because they protested Project Nimbus, which was jointly awarded to Google and Amazon to provide Israel and its army with cloud services.
The street movement in Ireland condemning Israel’s crimes comes in conjunction with an accompanying government movement, as Ireland, Spain and Norway announced at the end of last May their official recognition of a Palestinian state, despite the angry reaction from Israel, which finds its international isolation increasing after 8 months of its devastating war on the Gaza Strip.
