Gaza- For the fifth day in a row, the Israeli occupation forces launched a massive ground attack on the areas of Beit Hanoun, Beit Lahia and Jabalia, under a stifling siege on their residents, the third since the start of the aggression against Gaza.

The situation is getting worse every minute, as the occupation forces target every moving object and prevent the entry of water, food and medicine supplies into the North Governorate, amid intense artillery and air bombardment.

Abu Youssef fled from the Bir al-Na’ja area on the morning of October 6, under bombardment and artillery shells, to Jabalia camp, in search of safety and to escape the horror of the shells, only to face the same fate and stifling siege in the camp.

Difficult situation

Abu Youssef says that the situation in the north is very difficult, and that death is chasing people in the alleys of the streets, and “quadcopter” drones that fire on any moving object, in addition to artillery shelling and rocket launches everywhere, and “ghosts moving in the streets.”

He added, “We are besieged in Jabalia camp and we pray to God to remove this cloud from us. The situation in the north is beyond description: houses are being bombed on the heads of their residents, and martyrs (their bodies are scattered) on the roads and under the rubble, in light of the limited capabilities of the ambulance and civil defense crews and the occupation army’s direct targeting of them.” “.

According to the Palestinian citizen, no one can move because the “Quad Capter” is besieging the North Governorate and firing at the displaced people in their places. He asserts, “We do not know whether we will live or not. Every night is more difficult than the previous one. We are a free people with dignity and a cause. What will happen to us is forbidden.” With the humiliation of children and women, all the misery of life is gone, but we are steadfast.”

The Israeli occupation threatens these citizens, who number more than 200,000 people in the areas and neighborhoods of the northern Gaza Strip governorate, to evacuate their homes, committing massacres against civilians to force them to move south and displace them.

In the evening hours after the afternoon of October 5, Muhammad Hani and his child were searching for warm clothes in the Jabalia camp market, when suddenly occupation artillery shells rained down on them, their sounds shaking hearts and instilling fear in people’s faces as they ran to safety to prevent them from being hit by its shrapnel. Enduring death and loss, as he described it.

Incursion and massacres

Hani added, “I carried my son and ran in the opposite direction of the fleeing people. I wanted to drag my family, as they were waiting for me, from a street to an alley, panting in fear and hoping that I would escape with my children. I reached them and carried our belongings on our shoulders, searching for a safe escape, but to where?”

He explains that this is the third time that the occupation army has penetrated into the North Governorate and carried out the most horrific massacres. He says, “We have been displaced many times from the rubble, under shells and planes, and death is dancing around us. Dozens of deaths and injuries in the streets. We do not have the strength to carry them and treat them.”

For his part, Moataz Ayoub, an ambulance officer in the Civil Defense Service in the North Governorate, says that Jabalia camp has been waging a fierce ground battle for 5 days, and ambulance and civil defense crews have been subjected to rocket and artillery shelling or marches that encircle and cut off the roads.

The governorate’s residents were also besieged and roads were completely cut off to prevent any of them from leaving, and if anyone wanted to migrate to Gaza City, they would be sniped with a “quad capter,” according to Ayoub.

He explains that the road from Abu Sharkh roundabout – which is the only exit from the western side for the people of the north – is besieged and closed by the occupation with dirt barriers, targeting anyone who approaches and tries to leave, and directs citizens east towards Salah al-Din Street, where it has set up several checkpoints and checkpoints.

Random targeting

The ambulance officer confirms that the situation is catastrophic and gets worse every moment, as the Indonesian Hospital was forcibly closed and completely out of service. This is in contrast to threats that demanded the administration of Kamal Adwan Hospital to completely evacuate within 24 hours, while the administration refused this and continues to provide its services to the injured and sick.

According to Ayoub, the number of infections exceeds the ability of medical teams to absorb and deal with them, stressing that ambulance and civil defense crews are working “out of nowhere” in light of the lack of capabilities and scarcity of fuel, and if the siege continues longer than that, it will lead to the closure of the entire health system in the North Governorate.

Where is the escape?

He confirms that the targeting is “random everywhere, to the point that people have become obsessed with where they will flee, from Tal al-Zaatar to Jabalia camp and vice versa, and they do not know what fate awaits them, especially since all areas of the North Governorate are red and everyone in them is at risk of death.”

Ayoub adds that the occupation claims that there is a safe road through Salah al-Din Street for anyone who wants to go south, and “this is false. There are barriers and checkpoints, and it is firing from the Dawla area in the Zaytoun neighborhood, which is still witnessing a limited incursion, with vehicles advancing and moving.” In various areas on its outskirts for 47 days.
