Al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – said on Monday that its fighters targeted Israeli occupation vehicles and soldiers with operations and a compound ambush in Khan Yunis and Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
The Brigades stated – in a statement – that they destroyed two troop carriers and targeted a Merkava tank and two military bulldozers with explosive devices and shells, Al-Yassin 105, east of Khan Yunis.
It added that it killed and wounded Israeli vehicle crews during the ambush that was set up in the Al-Fokhari area, east of the city, and that its fighters monitored the helicopter landing to evacuate the dead and wounded.
In Rafah, Al-Qassam said it targeted a Merkava tank with a strobe device and a D9 military bulldozer with a Tandom shell in the Al-Shoka area, east of the city.
The Brigades also targeted an Israeli foot force with an explosive device, killing and wounding them east of the city as well.
It is noteworthy that for nearly a year, Israel has continued a devastating war in the besieged Gaza Strip, which has left more than 137,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and an unprecedented humanitarian and health crisis.
The Palestinian resistance factions, led by the Al-Qassam Brigades, have been confronting the Israeli forces stationed and penetrating into the Gaza Strip since the start of the ground operations, which has left dozens of Israeli soldiers dead and wounded, according to official estimates.
