The country organized with Switzerland a meeting of 83 countries around a Ukrainian peace plan.
More than 80 countries gathered Sunday, January 14, in Davos, Switzerland, to discuss a peace plan for Ukraine. Nearly two years after the start of the Russian invasion, this is the 4th meeting of these national security advisors, after the last one which took place in Malta in October.
The discussions are based on a ten-point plan from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Although there were more participants than in the previous meeting, Russia was absent, as was China.
“It is important that all the countries that come really want to participate and help end this war and bring peace. But there are different ideas on how this is possible and different countries have different experiences” underlined Andriy Yermak, the Ukrainian president’s chief of staff.
For Kyiv, China must be part of the peace process because Beijing is a strong ally of Moscow.
Chinese Premier Li Qiang will lead a delegation to Davos this week. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will also be there from Tuesday.
