Israeli media covered the confrontation and disagreements between ministers in the Israeli government against the backdrop of the war in the Gaza Strip. They also discussed the decision to stop the war from continuing, and some of them called for elections to form a new government, due to the incompetence of the current government.
Regarding the internal dispute, Reserve General Shosh Rabin, a former senior employee in the Israeli Internal Security Service (Shin Bet), expressed her support for subjecting ministers to a lie test machine.
While Shlomo Shirf, a former Israeli national team coach, believed that “every day that the war on Gaza continues is a good day for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government, and that every day that they remain in power poses a threat to the State of Israel.”
He said, “Netanyahu poses a threat to the State of Israel,” adding, “The state now has a historic opportunity that will not return, which is to decide the fate of Gaza and what will happen in it.”
Regarding the issue of Israeli detainees held by the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip, Reserve General Guy Tzur, a former commander of the land forces, stressed the necessity of their return, and announced his position in support of the continuation of the war, saying, “We cannot say to Sinwar, ‘You have won, return the kidnapped ones to us.’”
On the other hand, Reserve General Dan Harel – former Deputy Chief of Staff and Director General of the Ministry of Security – revealed that 171 people who held security positions issued a statement demanding early elections, and he said that there is a majority of the people requesting that.
