A meeting is taking place today in Brussels between NATO and Ukraine, at the request of Kyiv.
Ukraine has been facing bursts of Russian missile and drone attacks for two weeks which have caused at least 50 casualties and are putting the country’s energy infrastructure to the test.
Kyiv therefore wishes to strengthen its air defense, as explained by the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, and President Volodymyr Zelensky, who declares himself optimistic about collaboration with his partners in terms of drones.
NATO members say they are ready to help Ukraine more, but arms production is struggling to keep up and available American military aid is now exhausted, due to lack of agreement from Congress to renew it.
The Ukrainian General Staff is worried about the reconstitution of the missile stock, in the medium term, in the face of Russian forces which “really want to exhaust“its air defense system.
