The Times of Israel website wrote on Wednesday that Israel is holding secret talks with the Democratic Republic of the Congo regarding receiving refugees from the Gaza Strip.
The website reported that Israeli officials led informal talks with Congo and several other countries to complete the discussion about possible acceptance of Palestinians from Gaza.
According to a senior source in the Israeli mini-ministerial council, whose name the website did not mention, information indicates that the Republic of the Congo may be ready to receive the displaced, and that there are talks taking place with other countries in this context.
According to the source, Intelligence Minister Gila Gamliel stated in the Knesset session yesterday, Tuesday, that at the end of the war, the rule of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) is expected to collapse, and there will be complete dependence of the civilian population on humanitarian aid without the presence of municipal authorities.
Gamliel explained that there will be no job opportunities at the end of the war, and it is expected that 60% of the agricultural lands in the Gaza Strip will turn into security buffer zones.
She pointed out that the challenges facing the Gaza Strip are not the responsibility of Israel alone, and called on the international community to support “humanitarian migration,” stressing that this is considered “the only available solution.”
Since the Al-Aqsa flood, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, which as of Tuesday resulted in the death of 22,185 Palestinians and the injury of 57,35 others, most of them children and women. This war also caused massive destruction of infrastructure and left an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, according to Palestinian and international reports.
