Israeli Army Radio said that the army decided to demobilize 5 combat brigades from the ground maneuver in Gaza, according to an assessment of the situation in the Strip.

Israeli Army Radio added that the demobilization concerns 5 ground maneuver combat brigades in the Gaza Strip, including the 551st and 14th reserve brigades, in addition to 3 training brigades.

According to the Times of Israel, the brigades that were demobilized from Gaza will return to help revive the Israeli economy.

The Israeli “Wala” website also reported that “according to developments in the fighting in the Gaza Strip, additional forces are expected to be demobilized during the next week.”

On December 21, fighters of the Golani Brigade in the Israeli army withdrew from the Gaza Strip “to catch their breath after suffering heavy losses,” according to what was reported by the Walla news website and Channel 12.

According to previous data, the army announced the killing of 506 soldiers, including 172 killed since the start of the ground war on October 27.

Since October 7, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza, which as of Sunday has left 22,141 martyrs and 56,451 wounded, massive infrastructure destruction and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, according to the Gaza Strip authorities and the United Nations.
