On the 80th day of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced that it had killed a number of occupation soldiers and destroyed 13 vehicles, while the Israeli army announced that it had suffered more losses.

While the occupation army continued to target civilians, leaving martyrs and wounded hours after the massacre in the Maghazi camp in the central Gaza Strip, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the end of the war is not imminent, and that the fighting will intensify in the coming days.

Al-Qassam targets 40 Israeli soldiers

The Al-Qassam Brigades and Al-Quds Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement – announced on Monday that they had carried out operations against the Israeli occupation forces in several areas in the Gaza Strip.

The Al-Qassam Brigades said that it targeted an Israeli force of 40 soldiers that was holed up in a house in Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip, and confirmed that it caused deaths and injuries among its ranks.

It also targeted several occupation vehicles, destroying some and disabling others.

The Israeli Soroka Hospital announced that it received 18 soldiers wounded in the battles in the Gaza Strip on Monday, adding that one of them was in serious condition.

The hospital indicated that there are 49 injured soldiers currently receiving treatment in various departments, and the condition of 16 of them is serious.

Israeli Channel 12 reported that the commander of the 51st Battalion in the Golani Brigade dismissed a company commander for endangering a group of soldiers in the Shujaiya neighborhood in the Gaza Strip.

The dismissal decision came a few days after the occupation army leadership decided to withdraw soldiers from the brigade, which is described as the elite brigade in the Israeli army.

The brigade was withdrawn after 44 of its forces, including officers and soldiers, were killed so that its members could catch their breath and visit their families, according to the Israeli Walla website.

Netanyahu confirms the continuation of the war

Netanyahu renewed his refusal to stop the war on the Gaza Strip, and said, “The war in Gaza is far from over,” and denied before his party’s representatives what he described as “false media speculation” that his government might call for stopping the fighting against the Strip.

During a press conference with Netanyahu, Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid criticized the latter’s position on the continuation of the war, stressing at the same time that “Israel is strong enough to pay heavy prices in the war it is waging in Gaza,” as he put it.

Israel’s budget deficit increased threefold

The Israeli Ministry of Finance estimated that the war waged by the army in the Gaza Strip will likely cost it at least 50 billion shekels ($14 billion) in 2024, and will cause the budget deficit to increase approximately three times, anticipating that the fighting will continue until next February. .

The ministry’s deputy budget official said that the war is expected to continue for at least another two months, explaining in a speech before the Knesset Finance Committee (Parliament) that the budget will allocate 30 billion shekels for security and another 20 billion for civilian and other expenses.
