Israeli media reported an interview with an officer in the Israeli Internal Security Service (Shin Bet) who was responsible for investigating the head of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) Yahya Sinwar in the Gaza Strip, during which he spoke about exciting details regarding the information he provided at the time.

Officer Jay Han recalled that Sinwar told him during his arrest in Israeli prisons, “I am now a prisoner in your prisons, but take into account that after several years you and your family will be my prisoners.”

The Shin Bet officer said that he mocked Sinwar’s words at the time, but today he realized the magnitude of what happened.

It is noteworthy that Sinwar was arrested by Israel in its prisons in 1988, and sentenced to life imprisonment 4 times, in addition to 30 years.

Israel did not expect that Sinwar, who collected sentences amounting to more than 430 years in prison and released him without reservation in the Gilad Shalit deal (the Loyalty of the Free People deal) in 2011, would inflict years later on it the largest military loss in its history, and impose new equations for the conflict, which he had planned and intended. Implemented.

A week after his release, Al-Sinwar said that the best option to free the remaining prisoners inside was to kidnap more Israeli soldiers.

Israel acknowledges that Sinwar was very popular in the Palestinian street before and after the launch of the Al-Aqsa flood. He used to address the people of all colors and factions, urging them to confront the injustice to which the Palestinians are exposed.

The Palestinian resistance launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, which included a land, sea and air attack, and the infiltration of resistance members into several settlements on the Gaza Strip. It resulted in the killing of about 1,500 Israelis and the capture of about 250 others, to be exchanged for Palestinian prisoners in occupation prisons.
