The Israeli occupation army announced the killing of a third soldier in its ranks, today, Friday, in battles in the Gaza Strip. While Israeli media reported that the number of wounded soldiers was much higher than what was reported by the army, the Palestinian resistance confirmed that occupation soldiers were being targeted and killed or wounded.
The occupation army said – in a statement – that Major (reserve) Tomer Shlomo Meara, 28 years old, conscript in the 710th Engineering Battalion, was killed today, Friday, in a battle in the northern Gaza Strip.
Earlier today, the Israeli army announced the killing of a tank commander in battles in the southern Gaza Strip, after announcing at dawn the killing of another soldier.
The occupation forces also reported that two soldiers, one of them from the engineering unit of the Golani Brigade, were killed during battles in the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip last night. It was also announced that 4 others, including two officers, were injured in battles in the south and north of the Gaza Strip.
Yesterday, the Israeli army announced the killing of an officer with the rank of major in the armored forces during fierce fighting in the south, bringing the death toll to 124 between officers and soldiers since the start of the ground incursion, while the number of wounded since the beginning of the ground operation rose to 652, including 146 seriously injured.

On the other hand, the occupation army announced that it had recovered the bodies of two other soldiers and a civilian who had been detained in Gaza since the seventh of last October.
The army stated that this brings the number of officers and soldiers killed since the beginning of the war on Gaza on October 7 last year to 450, including 119 since the beginning of the ground battles on the 27th of the same month.
In this context, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said that the number of military casualties according to hospital lists is much higher than what is published by the Israeli army.
The newspaper reported that rehabilitation centers for the disabled are not prepared to deal with the large numbers of wounded Israeli soldiers.
Clashes and operations
For its part, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – announced on Friday that it had directly targeted a building in the Juhr al-Dik area (central Gaza Strip), in which a number of occupation soldiers were holed up, with a TPG shell, killing them. And wounded.
In another statement on the Telegram platform, Al-Qassam said that its fighters were able to clash with 10 soldiers from point zero inside a military tent of the occupation forces in the Juhr al-Dik area as well.
Al-Qassam fighters also managed to seize an M16 weapon from an Israeli soldier, and returned to their bases.
Al-Qassam indicated that its fighters were able to blow up a house in which a number of occupation soldiers were holed up with explosive devices, leaving them dead and wounded east of the city of Khan Yunis.
The Qassam Brigades also bombed Kibbutz Nirim with the 114 mm short-range Rajum missile system.
The Al-Quds Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement – announced that its fighters targeted two Israeli tanks with “Tandum” shells in the Sheikh Radwan axis, west of Gaza.
The Al-Quds Brigades said that they bombed Israeli military crowds in northwest Gaza City with a barrage of mortar shells.
Above the occupied city of Jerusalem, sounds of explosions were heard as the Iron Dome system attempted to intercept Palestinian resistance missiles.
