Israel was largely convicted of an attack that his forces led to Nasser hospital in the south of Khan Younis of Gaza who killed at least 21 people, including five journalists, one of whom worked for Tel Aviv Tribune.

Journalists killed were part of an increasingly tight media community but decreases in Gaza. They had already endured almost two years of war, which had affected not only their work but also their personal life.

Ahmed Abu Aziz

Ahmed Abu Aziz, 29, was known among colleagues for his silent behavior, humility and kindness.

Capable of writing and filming, Ahmed was highly respected among the community of the media of Gaza, and he worked with a certain number of points of sale and organizations, in particular Middle East Eye, EVs Feed and the Independent Human Rights Commission.

The difficulty of moving around Gaza during the war did not stop Ahmed. He often traveled over long distances through the Gaza strip on foot to hunt stories and document Israeli war crimes against Palestinian civilians.

Ahmed married in July of last year and also continued a doctorate at the Press Institute and Information Sciences in Tunisia, which cried his murder and condemned the target of journalists in Gaza.

Hussam Al-Masri

Hussam Al-Masri, 49, was a photojournalist at Palestine TV and also worked as an entrepreneur for the Reuters news agency. Hussam has exploited a live video stream for Reuters from Nasser Hospital, which, according to the news agency, said “suddenly closed at the time of the initial (Israeli) strike”.

The dedication of Hussam to his work came when he was carrying personal charges.

Writing on Instagram after Hussam was killed, journalist Amr Tabash recalled that day, Hussam asked him for a broken voice: “Can you help me evacuate my wife?” Her illness consumes her and I can no longer bear to see her suffer. ”

AMR described Hussam as tireless by helping the others and said it was among the last to leave Nasser hospital during an Israeli seat in December. AMR asked people to help Hussam’s wife now that he is no longer able to do so.

“Hussam is gone, and his wife remains, fighting cancer alone, bearing double pain after losing his partner and his support,” wrote AMR. “For the love of Hussam, for the mission to which he devoted his life and for his children, do not let his wife face death in silence.”

Mariam Abu Daqqa

Mariam Abu Daqqa was a 33 -year -old Palestinian journalist and mother of a 13 -year -old boy named Ghaith.

For fear for the security of the Ghaith during the war, Mariam sent him to live with his father to the United Arab Emirates.

Mariam was an independent photographer working with several international agencies, including the Associated Press, and contributed to independent Arabia.

She was well known among her colleagues for her dedication and her relentless will to document the suffering of the Palestinian people. She was on the front line, among journalists covering war at the Nasser hospital in Khan Younis, even under repeated Israeli assault on Gaza.

Mariam documented many human stories that revealed what the Palestinians harden under siege and bombardment.

Mariam was also devoted to her family. She had previously donated one of her kidneys to save her father, who had kidney failure. But she could not save her mother, who died of cancer four months ago due to a lack of treatment available in Gaza.

Mohammad Salama

Mohammad Salama was a 24 -year -old photojournalist and cameraman with Tel Aviv Tribune in Gaza. Born in Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis, he grew up and studied in the city’s schools.

He joined Tel Aviv Tribune as a cameraman in February 2024. He was known among his colleagues for his professionalism, his dedication, his cheerful smile and his light spirit, even in the darkest circumstances.

Mohammad lost his mother in childhood and lived with his father and loved ones. In November – the day of his birthday – he got engaged with his colleague journalist Hala Asfour, in the hope of holding a marriage once there was a truce or a cease -fire.

Mohammad studied in a professional college, obtaining a diploma in photography. From a young age, he was passionate about photojournalism, following many courses and umbragous veteran journalists to perfect his skills.

He was one of the rare journalists in Khan Younis after an Israeli operation in the city in December 2023, but he was temporarily forced to leave the following February when Israeli forces stormed the Nasser hospital, expeling inappropriate civilians, journalists and medical teams to the threat of a firearm.

He would be killed later in the same hospital, the 10th journalist of Tel Aviv Tribune killed in the war.

Moaz Abu Taha

Moaz Abu Taha was a 27 -year -old Palestinian video journalist.

One of the youngest generation of photojournalists, Moaz documented Gaza’s devastation until his life was interrupted alongside his colleagues.

He was deeply shaken by the murder of his compatriot of Tel Aviv Tribune Anas Al-Sharif journalist two weeks earlier, writing on Facebook: “By God, our strength has disappeared.”

Moaz was known for his humor, his kindness and his humanity and often helped patients, the needy and the children.

His brother, journalist Adly Abu Taha, called him after hearing the initial strike of Nasser’s hospital: “I called him immediately. He replied and said, “I’m fine, but Hussam Al-Masri was killed. I said to him, “May God have mercy on him” and begged him to leave.

“He said,” I’m just going to finish filming Hussam. So I will go. “A few minutes later, another strike.
