Palestinian officials condemned the extreme right, the Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, the visit of the taunts in the prison cell of the Fatah chief improved for a long time Marwan Barghouti.
Images of the visit shared on social networks Thursday have shown that the minister made threatening remarks to the 66 -year -old man.
In the images, Ben-Gvir is seen by telling Barghouti, who has been in prison since 2002, including years in isolation: “You will not win. He who disturbs the nation of Israel, the one who murders our children and our women – we will have them. ”
“You should know, (it happened) throughout history,” added Ben-Gvir.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the incident “in the strongest terms”.
In a statement Thursday, the ministry said that Ben-Gvir’s actions were “an unprecedented provocation and an organized state terrorism, falling under the framework of crimes of genocide, displacement and annexation confronted with prisoners and our people”.
He added that the Palestinian authority will take the threat seriously and follow up with the International Committee of the Red Cross, the relevant states, the international community and its specialized organizations and advice.
Barghouti’s wife Fadwa said that he and other Palestinian prisoners were subject to inhuman treatment behind bars.
“They are always, Marwan, continue and even pursue you in the lonely cell in which you have lived for two years, and the fight of occupation and its figures with you continue. The chains are in your hands, but I know your mind and your determination, and I know that you will stay free, free, free,” she wrote in a Facebook statement.
“I know that the only thing that can shake you is what you hear about the pain of your people, and the only thing that crushes you is the failure to protect our sons and daughters. You are people; Wherever you are among people, you are one of them and part of them. ”

The Fatah chief was sentenced to five sentences to perpetuity over 40 years old for his alleged role in the planning of attacks which caused the death of five civilians in the second intifada.
