In a morning tension on the eastern border of Cambodia, a dense smoke cloud rose over the fields, which farmers saw from afar while running in search of shelter.
It was not hours until the photo was involved on the digital platforms of the phrase “Thailand bombing a poison gas Cambodia.”
At the background of the scene, the war had a little calm, after a fragile ceasefire agreement, but the battle moved from the fronts to the phone screens. Photo clips, air footage, leaflets that talk about a “chemical attack” .. and suddenly, the border conflict turned into an international file that leads the discussions.
However, what actually happened? Did Thailand actually use prohibited weapons, or is the burning scene its larger fuel, visual misleading?
In this report, Sanad News Agency affiliated with Al -Jazira Network followed the backgrounds of the prosecution, and reviewed the pictures and clips circulating, in an attempt to understand the nature of these allegations, and to reveal what it hides from misleading narratives.

The start was from one image, a plane flying low, and behind it a dense white cloud on agricultural land.
The picture was published on Cambodian accounts and local pages, and it was said to document the moment of bombing with a toxic gas carried out by a Thai plane on border villages.
But when “Sanad” is reviewed by using the reverse research, it turned out that it was published last January, and returns to an American plane that participated in putting off the forest fires in California, as part of the air rescue missions, and has no connection with the Asian conflict.
Fliced gases over the fields
In another clip, military vehicles appeared moving in agricultural land, while white gases emit between the fields. The scene described as “a documentation of the use of a toxic gas in a direct land attack.”
However, the careful analysis of the video revealed details of the circulating novel, as there was no trace of chemical protection equipment among the soldiers, nor was any signs of evacuation or ambulance for civilians, but later turned out that the clip documents ancient military exercises conducted by Thai forces using non -toxic smoke bombs.
Detamentary novels
On July 27, a spokeswoman for the Cambodian Ministry of Defense, Mali Sochita, said that the Thai army used “toxic gas” in the border area of Ann Sis, and accused of clear violation of international laws.
However, the Thai Foreign Ministry responded with an official, sharp -worded statement, in which it categorically denied the use of any type of chemical weapons, confirming the country’s full commitment to the Chemical Weapons Convention, and its refusal to use these substances “under any circumstance and from any party.”
