After an absence of 20 months, former Swedish international football player Christopher Olson returned to the stadiums after suffering an acute brain disease.
Olson, 30, participated on Saturday, with his team, “IK Silinner”, the Swedish second division, in the friendly match against Austraker United, and succeeded in scoring a goal, according to the Swedish News Agency (TT).
In February 2024, Olson was diagnosed with very rare inflammation of the blood vessels in the brain, causing many small blood clots in the brain.
The Swedish player suddenly lost his consciousness at his home, and he was initially placed on the artificial respiratory system for a long time in the hospital, while doctors searched for a diagnosis of his acute condition in the brain.
Olson was later transferred to a neurological rehabilitation center, gradually regaining his motor and verbal abilities.
Earlier this year, Olson and his Danish club agreed at the time, Metiland, to end the contract between them by mutual consent between the two parties, before moving to “IK Silinner”.
