The deadly famine in the Gaza Strip left a house unless it knocked on its doors, nor a child, except for its weight on him, without separating a patient or a healthy, large or small.
As the Israeli occupation army continued – months ago – to close the stricken Palestinian sector crossings and prevent the introduction of humanitarian supplies, the residents live in an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe as hunger has become a tragic daily scene that kills all groups, and in particular children, women and the elderly.
Amidst this tragic scene, one of the most painful stories is reflected, narrated by the photojournalist Majdi Qarai, about his son who has autism who did not understand the meaning of war or siege, but in the silent pain of pain of his hunger, he did not do before.
Qi’i did not imagine one day that his son, who is with autism, would come to him to express his hunger, and he does not speak, except that the famine that is spread throughout Gaza made him come to him, hitting with his small hand on his stomach heavily, in an unlicensed cry, but it is understood “I am hungry.”
“In light of the deadly starvation, I will talk to you about my autistic son. Since I discovered his injury, I devoted my time and me to help him learn and fill his day between the institution in which he qualifies, and recreational activities such as the bike ride at the Yarmouk Stadium, and swimming in a private pool. He was not asking about food because of his abundance The house, that was part of its treatment and emptying its negative energy. “
It is noteworthy that since the beginning of the war, everything has disappeared “and stopped taking his son abroad due to the frequent waves of displacement, and the destruction of the places he used to go with him, adding” his behavior changed significantly, as if everything that I built with him over the years suddenly collapsed. “
“Yesterday, for the first time, he came to hit his hand on his stomach heavily. He does not speak, as if he clearly tells me: I am hungry. There is nothing that I bought for him or his brothers. He does not know that we are in a war or in a famine … he just wants to eat.”
The publication of the photographer has received a wide interaction on the communication platforms in the sector, and many commentators expressed their deep sorrow, stressing that the story of this autistic patient is not an exception, but rather a wide segment of children who suffer silently.
One of them commented, “This is the story of one child with autism, but there are hundreds of cases that have not yet been revealed in light of the brutal and famine war that strikes the sector.”
Moghroufon pointed out that many Gaza children suffer from severe malnutrition, and that the urgent need to provide food and care, especially for people with special needs, because they do not understand the meaning of war or the loss of food, all they want is to eat.
Another wrote a painful comment, “My daughter is one and a half years old, yesterday, she said to me: Baba Ninah (bread) … I did not know what to say to her.”
Other bloggers have considered that autistic children in Gaza are facing complex difficulties. Besides food lack, the continuous sounds of the shelling for nearly 22 months affect them psychologically and behaviorally, which requires urgent intervention to protect and care for them.
Good morning … Behind every morning we live, the children of Gaza die hunger and a suffocating blockade, without water or food, and between the rubble looking for safety.

Many asked about the role of human rights and humanitarian institutions in what children are exposed to in Gaza, especially those with autism and mental disabilities who need special care that are not available in light of war and siege.
