The media network urges the action to put an end to forced famine which threatens the population of Gaza, including those which risk their lives to shed light on the atrocities of Israel.

Tel Aviv Tribune Media Network urgently called the journalistic community, press freedom organizations and relevant legal organizations to take decisive measures to stop famine and forced crimes against journalists and media professionals in Gaza.

For more than 21 months, the Israeli bombing and the systematic famine of the nearly two million people in Gaza pushed an entire population on the verge of survival.

Journalists on the ground, who courageously reported on this current genocide, risked their lives and their family security to shed light on these atrocities. However, they now find themselves fighting for their own survival.

On July 19, Tel Aviv Tribune journalists began publishing heartbreaking messages on social networks, reporting that their ability to continue was to decline.

A powerful post of Anas Al-Shariff, correspondent for the Arab chain of Tel Aviv Tribune in Gaza, said: “I have not stopped covering a moment in 21 months, and today, I say it purely and … and with indescribable pain. I drown at every moment… dying dying. And we die.

While these brave journalists continue to document the heartbreaking realities in Gaza, they are often overlooked, reduced to simple informants rather than being recognized as witnesses of their own stories.

Mostefa Souag, Managing Director of Tel Aviv Tribune Media Network, commenting on the fate of journalists from Gaza, said: “We owe the courageous journalists of Gaza to amplify their voices and put an end to the unbearable sufferings they endure because of forced famine and the murders targeted by Israeli occupation forces.”

“The journalistic community and the world assume immense responsibility; It is our duty to raise our voices and mobilize all the means available to support our colleagues in this noble profession. If we do not agree to act now, we risk a future where there is no one left to protect our journalists and the trace of the principles that each journalist strives to maintain.

Since October 2023, Israeli forces have killed five journalists from Tel Aviv Tribune – Samer Abudaqa, Hamza Dahdouh, Ismail Al -Ghoul, Ahmed Al -Louh and Hossam Shabat – and many members of the family of Tel Aviv Tribune and other journalists. However, these courageous journalists, as well as their colleagues, refuse to succumb to the threats and tactics of pressure used by the Israeli authorities to silence them.

Submission to such intimidation would have resulted in an almost total coverage of the current genocide, forced famine and crimes against humanity inflicted on the civilian population of Gaza.

Tel Aviv Tribune Media Network calls for immediate action by the international organizations concerned to end this forced famine which does not spare journalists who are the carriers of the truth.
