In a surprise to the car market in China, which is usually seen in the summer, retail cars rose in June 2025; It amounted to 2.1 million units, which is a record number for this month, according to the PCA Association (PCA) today, Tuesday.

These numbers represent a growth of 7% compared to the same month of 2022, when sales amounted to 1.9 million units.

This height coincided with a wave of pre -emptive purchases from consumers who rushed to buy cars before suspending incentive programs in a number of major provinces such as Guangdong, Joan and Chijiang.

Direct support for every new car

According to the Chinese Passenger Cars Association, government incentives of a deduction of 20,000 yuan (2800 dollars) contributed to encouraging consumers to replace their old cars with modern ones, which clearly reflected on local consumption data.

The figures indicate that about 70% of private car purchases in June benefited from this support.

The association explained that some governorates stopped the program in mid -June, although it was scheduled to continue until December, due to the lack of funding, and this prompted many potential buyers to accelerate their purchasing decisions.

Government warning to auto manufacturers

The market has also witnessed a decline in the volume of discounts and promotional offers, especially during the past two months. According to the association, price discounts were applied to only 14 of the electric cars in June, while the discounts were larger on cars with internal combustion engines.

It is noteworthy that the Chinese government had summoned last month senior electric cars manufacturers for a warning meeting, urging to stop “unjustified discounts in prices” that affect the stability of the market.

The Association stressed that car manufacturers will try to maintain the stability of prices during the rest of the year 2025, by maintaining a stable production pace, to avoid any sudden fluctuations in prices or supply.

This strong performance in a season is traditionally low active, reflects the effectiveness of government incentives in stimulating demand, and also highlights the rapid interaction of the Chinese consumer with temporary policies, at a time when Beijing tries to balance consumption support and market control.
