The military and strategic expert, Major General Fayez Al -Duwairi, said that the details of the ambush that the occupation army was exposed to last night in Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip, indicating a qualitative operation that was carefully planned in an area that the occupation has always believed to extend its control over it, warning against relying on the Israeli novel alone.
In his analysis of the details of the attack, Al -Duwairi explained that the site that witnessed the ambush had previously witnessed similar operations carried out by the Palestinian resistance, specifically the Beit Hanoun battalion, which was characterized by the tactics of ambushes, but what distinguishes the last process is its implementation at night, in a development that reflects the advanced logistical and exploratory capacity of the resistance.
The initial investigation of the Israeli army revealed that the attack that targeted its forces in the northern Gaza Strip killed 5 soldiers and wounded 14 others, including a senior officer, after two Israeli battalions fell in a tight ambush carried out by the resistance through a serial bombing of explosive devices followed by heavy shooting.
Major General Al -Duwairi indicated that the information received from the Israeli side is “cross and conflicting”, which requires waiting for what the Al -Qassam Brigades – the armed wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – will reveal the official details later.
He pointed out that one of the targeted forces was from the “Juda” battalion, a unit of the Jewish Orthodox soldiers, and was moving on foot at night in a “strange” move given the security risks.
Night monitoring
He emphasized that the choice of infiltration in a open area indicates that the occupation army mistakenly assumed that the resistance is unable to monitor night, considering that these wrong accounts constituted a major entrance to the success of the operation.
Israeli media had reported that the evacuation took place amid complex circumstances that lasted for long hours, due to the themselves of the same rescue teams targeting explosive devices and direct fire. The soldiers were also transferred with helicopters to several hospitals, in a scene opposite the size of the losses and the complexity of the field.
Al -Duwairi considered that the resistance enables the implementation of the ambush at a distance of more than 1000 meters of the border fence, despite the passage of about 620 days on the Israeli invasion, reflecting the continuation of the effectiveness of the tunnels network that the resistance uses, and even its development as happened in the Khan Yunis ambush, in the southern Gaza Strip, months ago.
He stressed that the success of the resistance in cultivating 4 explosive devices in this serial and accurate way in a destroyed and shovel area, indicates a field intelligence breakthrough and the ability to long monitoring the movements of the occupation army, which enabled the fighters to choose the most appropriate time to attack.
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation has reported that the “Nazah Judea” force of Major General “Kfir” was subjected to the detonation of 4 packages in a row, which began targeting a tank and then successive rescue forces, in an area supposed to be within the full scope of Israeli control.
Pros and negatives
Al -Duwairi talked about the impact of darkness on the battle, stressing that the night gives the resistance some positives despite the restrictions it imposes, as the occupation forces count on the techniques of night vision, but its effectiveness retreats when facing fighters who move through slow crawling and concealment between the rubble.
He pointed out that the operation was probably carried out after a long monitoring of the patterns of the Israeli army, while the hostile forces were reassured about the absence of danger in that area, which made them depend on foot patrols without armored protection.
The Al -Qassam Brigades had commented on the operation by publishing a picture of Telegram bearing the phrase “Suleakk the prestige of your army”, in reference to its message from behind this ambush, and later announced the targeting of Israeli crowds north of Khan Yunis with mortar shells.
And separate areas of the Gaza Strip are witnessing the resistance operations during the past weeks, as dozens of deaths and injuries have been killed in the ranks of the Israeli army, and last June was the most bloody for Israeli forces since the war began, according to Hebrew media.
