Journalist Laith Jaar from the Old City of Nablus said that the Israeli army claimed that Palestinians tried to seize the weapon of a soldier from the Dovevan unit, which led to a shooting that killed the two people and wounded 4 soldiers, 3 of whom were moderate, and the fourth was slightly injured.
But Jaar explained that the Palestinian sources explained that the two young men were heading towards the occupation forces to demand reaching their relatives in the Old City to evacuate them after a long siege, which led to a fight between the two young men and the soldier, and their martyrdom with the bullets of the occupation forces.

Dozens of wounded and detainees
The occupation forces arrested dozens of Palestinians from the Old City during the siege, while 82 Palestinians were injured, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.

While the occupation army announced through the Israeli Channel 12 that it launched an operation in the “Kasbah neighborhood (the old town) in Nablus based on accurate intelligence information”, the 14 Israeli channel also reported that forces from the “Border Guard”, the Public Security Agency (Shin Bet), the civil administration, two reserves, and the Dovevan unit operating in parallel in the old town, and the operation is expected to continue for long hours.
