International newspapers dealt with the developments of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, which was described by a message signed by hundreds of writers and organizations as genocide, while two former Israeli military officials said it turned into a “trap”.

The “Guardian” newspaper spoke about a message signed by 380 writers and organizers, and announced that what is happening in Gaza was “genocide”, and called for an immediate stopping.

The signatories of the letter called for the distribution of aid to the Palestinians in the Strip immediately and unconditionally with the knowledge of the United Nations, and they also called for the end of the war and the release of the Israeli prisoners as well as the arbitrary detained Palestinians in Israeli prisons.

The letter stressed the necessity of imposing sanctions on the Benjamin Netanyahu government -required for the International Criminal Court -if it does not respond to immediate ceasefire calls.

The war became a trap

In Israel, the Channel 12 website published a joint article for the former head of the Israeli Military Intelligence Service, Amos Yadlin, and General Audi Avental, in which they said, “The war has become a trap that may hinder Israel politically, militarily and economically for decades, if it chooses the complete path of victory that Netanyahu is promoting.”

The article added that the costs of occupying Gaza, establishing a military government, and holding it responsible for the lives of the Palestinian population “will be very expensive for Israel’s security and future.”

In France, the newspaper “Liberation” commented on the articles of “very harsh” opinion that he wrote successively the two former Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert and Wahud Barak, against the military options of Benjamin Netanyahu, where both men invited him to “end his illegal war in Gaza.”

The newspaper pointed out that the two men belong to the opposite parties of the Israeli political spectrum, and said that behind their very strong words lies the same analysis, which is that “there is no longer any real military target behind the Israeli army’s indiscriminate shelling of Gaza, but rather a political survival that Netanyahu is led.”

The Israeli economic “Calcalist” website also quoted the statements of the Ministry of Finance in Israel to increase the cost of the war to more than 142 billion shekels (the dollar equals about 4 forms) after 600 days.

According to data, the war contributed to increasing deficit by about 1.4% of GDP in 2023, with 4.8% of GDP in 2024.

America targets millions of migrants

Finally, the Washington Times spoke about the inconsistency of numbers about the number of irregular migrants that the United States intends to deport. She said that the numbers start from 10 million people and escalate to 50 million, as some parties believe.

The newspaper pointed out that the Minister of Internal Security Christie Naim suggested that they were 20 million or a little more, after they were 12 million at the beginning of this millennium.
