The Government Media Office in Gaza announced today, Saturday, that the number of centers and leaves of the distribution of food targeted by the occupation army has risen to 68 accommodations, since the onset of the continuous Israeli aggression on the Strip.

The media office said in a statement that the occupation army bombed a warehouse to distribute food aid in the Deir Al -Balah area in the center of the sector, which led to the death of 5 citizens and a large number of wounded among civilians who gathered to receive humanitarian aid, amid a suffocating famine that strikes all areas of the sector.

Thus, the number of food distribution centers and the targeted humanitarian aid rises to:

  • 39 food and aid distribution centers.
  • 29 Kitting food that provides daily meals for the needy and the hungry.

Using food as a war weapon

These attacks are part of a continuous policy followed by the occupation using food as a war weapon, in a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian laws, especially the Geneva Conventions that prohibit targeting humanitarian and civilian facilities under any circumstances.

According to the media office statement, “this criminal policy led to the martyrdom of hundreds of civilians while trying to receive food aid from the relief and tuft centers, in bloody scenes that reflect the size of the human tragedy to which a besieged defenseless people are exposed.”

This policy also reveals the true face of the occupation, which adopts the policy of genocide and systematic starvation against the Palestinian people in the Strip.

The media office held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for these heinous crimes, with a severe condemnation of the repetition of targeting relief and social solidarity facilities.

The Office called on the international community, the United Nations, the Security Council, and all humanitarian and human rights bodies, for the necessity of urgent, immediate and active action to stop these brutal massacres, and to provide protection for food distribution centers, open crossings, and ensure the arrival of humanitarian aid without targeting or obstructing.

He also called on human rights and media institutions to document these heinous crimes and work to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for international courts for its crimes that amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The statement concluded by emphasizing that the continuation of international silence means “an actual participation in this slow genocide of a besieged defenseless people, starving and bombing in front of the world’s eyes.”

In early March, the first phase of a ceasefire agreement and the exchange of prisoners between Hamas and Israel ended on January 19, with Egyptian -American mediation and American support. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed the start of the second phase of the agreement and resumed the genocide in the Strip on March 18.

With an American support, Israel has committed, since October 7, 2023, genocide crimes in Gaza, which left about 173,000 martyrs and wounded Palestinians, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
