This Monday, Pope Leo XIV launched an appeal to the release of imprisoned journalists, greeting the “Inestable value of freedom of expression and the press”.
Faced with more than 6,000 journalists gathered in Rome, the first American pope praised the courage of those who risk their lives to reveal the truth, calling them to “Witnesses of dignity and justice”.
Applaudi with fervor, Léon XIV also called on the international community to protect these fundamental rights. Leaving the room, he hung out, signed autographs and promised to stay alongside those who defend free information.
