Photographer Ali Jadallah (35 years old) was not immune to the horrors of the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, which caused him to lose his family and destroy his home, pushing him to suffer displacement and homelessness amid an acute shortage of water, food, and treatment.

Over the course of 15 months of the extermination war, Jadallah held his lens to bear witness to the tragedy, conveying the suffering of the people of Gaza to the world.

Through his lens, Jadallah narrates the suffering of journalists, who were not spared from Israeli targeting, as the most heinous crimes were committed against them in an attempt to silence their voices inside the besieged Gaza Strip.

It is worth noting that Jadallah lost several members of his family, including his father and 4 of his brothers, as a result of an Israeli bombing that targeted their home in northern Gaza on October 11, 2023.

The photographer says: “I covered several wars on Gaza and practiced photography in various fields, but this war is different. It is a war of brutal extermination that did not have mercy on humans, trees, or stones.”

He added: “As a photojournalist in Gaza, I am living in a tragic situation in which genocide is being carried out on us as individuals who have the right to life. We have been deprived of the most basic necessities of life, such as housing, food and drink. There are no words to express the extent of the pain that I feel.”

Jadallah pointed out that the protective vest bearing the word “PRESS” has lost its meaning, “so we, as journalists, are facing genocide with our bare chests, as 202 Palestinian journalists wore this vest, but they were killed at the hands of the Israeli occupation.”

Regarding the most difficult moments he went through, he explained that it was the bombing of his house and the martyrdom of his family after that, and then the difficulties came one after another in the Gaza Strip, where he lost his colleagues and friends.

Jadallah expressed his disappointment at the world’s silence regarding the genocide taking place in Gaza, where the journalist was deprived of his rights.

Israel continues its massacres, ignoring two arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court on November 21, against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, for committing war crimes and crimes against humanity against the Palestinians in Gaza.
