The Israeli army announced on Tuesday evening that the commander of the Northern West Bank Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Kiev, was injured in an explosive device explosion in the Tulkarm camp, noting that the commander of the West Bank Division in the army, Lieutenant Colonel Yaki Dolf, was also in the targeted vehicle.

This comes as the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the death of 8 Palestinians and the injury of a number of others during the ongoing occupation storming the Tulkarm and Nour Shams camps amid armed clashes and continuous explosions.

The occupation army spokesman said that the army, the Internal Security Service (Shin Bet), and the border guards were carrying out a military operation targeting what they described as “terrorism” in Tulkarm.

Widespread destruction

The occupation bulldozers also continued their extensive destruction in the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, and the Israeli army announced that a march had dealt with a cell in Nur Shams.

Earlier Tuesday, the Israeli army announced the launch of a military operation in the city of Tulkarm, and eyewitnesses reported that the occupation forces stormed the city, besieged the Tulkarm and Nour Shams camps, and sent in military reinforcements accompanied by bulldozers.

For its part, the Al-Quds Brigades – Tulkarm Brigade, affiliated with the Islamic Jihad Movement, said in a statement that its fighters “continue to confront the occupation forces in the fighting axes in the Tulkarm camp, and are targeting enemy forces and military vehicles with heavy showers of bullets, causing casualties.”

It announced that it was able to “detonate a pre-prepared explosive device with a D-9 military bulldozer in Nour Shams camp, causing confirmed casualties.”

Intrusions

On the other hand, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that three Palestinians were injured with varying injuries during the occupation forces’ storming of Balata camp, in the city of Nablus in the West Bank.

He added that a Palestinian woman suffered bruises after the occupation forces beat her during their storming of Nablus.

The Red Crescent revealed that the occupation forces arrested a Palestinian after he was injured, and prevented rescue crews from reaching him.

Two Palestinians were also injured by occupation forces’ bullets during their storming of the town of Beit Furik, east of the city.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces arrested another young man, noting that Israeli military vehicles stormed the town and deployed in its streets.

Soldiers also raided citizens’ homes, and snipers mounted their roofs amid confrontations with young men who confronted the raid.

In Hebron, in the southern West Bank, four Palestinians were injured, one of them seriously, after occupation soldiers opened fire on them in the Wadi al-Wardan area, located between the town of Beit Ummar and the Al-Arroub camp.

The occupation forces prevented ambulance crews from transporting the injured and detained three wounded, then later allowed the fourth injured person to be transferred to Al-Mizan Hospital in the city of Hebron.

Settlers attacks

On the other hand, on Tuesday evening, Israeli settlers stormed two Palestinian communities, opened fire, and destroyed property in them in the east and south of the West Bank.

Hassan Mlihat, supervisor of the Al-Baidar Organization for Defending Bedouin Rights, said that Israeli settlers traveling in 7 vehicles attacked the Mlihat Arab Bedouin community in the Al-Marajat area, northwest of the city of Jericho.

He explained that the settlers demolished barracks (a tin structure often used for agricultural purposes) in the community, which has a population of about 500 people, and opened fire and threw stones at citizens’ homes.

In the south of the West Bank, the official Wafa Agency said that Israeli settlers “stormed shanty dwellings, tents and caves in Khirbet al-Halawa in Masafer Yatta, searched them, and terrorized the children and families.”

Settlers also raided sheep pens and searched Palestinian homes, detained their owners and prevented them from moving in the area. They also assaulted a Palestinian, destroyed his car, and confiscated his ID card.

It is noteworthy that the cities and towns of the West Bank have recently become the scene of repeated daily incursions carried out by the Israeli army and settlers, including Palestinian deaths and injuries, in addition to cases of arrest and vandalism of public and private property, resulting in 832 martyrs and about 6,500 wounded, since the start of the Israeli war of genocide. In the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, according to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
