The Yemeni Houthi group announced on Tuesday that it attacked a military target in the Jaffa region in central Israel, with a hypersonic ballistic missile, and stressed the continuation of its operations in support of the resistance in the Gaza Strip.

This came in a televised statement issued by the military spokesman for the group’s forces, Yahya Saree.

Saree said that the group’s missile force targeted a military target of the Israeli enemy in the occupied Jaffa region (central) with a Palestine 2 hypersonic ballistic missile.

He added that the operation achieved its objectives successfully, without clarifying the nature of the military target.

He stressed that the group’s forces are continuing their military operations “against the Israeli enemy in support of the resistance in Gaza until the aggression against the Gaza Strip stops and the siege is lifted.”

The Israeli army announced at dawn on Tuesday that it had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen towards Tel Aviv, the third in a week, while 20 people were injured as they were heading to shelters after the sirens sounded.

Escalation of attacks

In recent weeks, Houthi attacks with missiles and marches have escalated, amid sharp criticism from the Israeli opposition and former military commanders of the army’s failure to confront Houthi attacks and the government’s inability to stop this threat.

Last Saturday, the group bombed a military target in the city of Jaffa with a hypersonic missile that the Israeli army failed to intercept, resulting in 20 Israelis being injured with various injuries, according to the Israeli Ambulance Authority.

The Houthi group also announced in a statement on Monday evening that it had attacked, using two drones, two military targets in Jaffa and Ashkelon in central and southern Israel.

It confirmed that it is continuing its military operations against the Israeli enemy in support of the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip. She stressed that these operations will not stop unless the Israeli aggression on Gaza is stopped and the siege is lifted.
