Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, Hossam Abu Safiya, said on Saturday that the occupation army targeted the third floor of the hospital with artillery shells, without causing any casualties, stressing that this caused terror among the injured and children.
He added that the hospital – located in Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip – is under constant threat, and its walls are filled with bullets and shells, making it appear as a military target.
He stressed that the hospital did not receive the necessary maintenance supplies to maintain electricity, water and oxygen, despite promises, appealing to those who can provide what the hospital needs to save the injured.
He pointed out that the World Health Organization was able to send only 70 units of blood, despite the hospital’s need for 200 units.
He stressed that the occupation army did not allow the entry of all required supplies, and also prevented medical teams from entering, in light of a severe shortage of medical supplies, devices, medicines, and pain relievers.
He also stressed that food is very scarce, saying, “We cannot provide meals for the wounded. We call on the world to intervene urgently, even to bring in food, which allows us to provide at least one meal during the day to the injured who clearly need nutrition during their recovery period, and also to the medical team working.” “24 hours a day.”
He reported that about 9 injured people in need of urgent surgical intervention were evacuated to Gaza City, while there are currently more than 72 injured people in Kamal Adwan Hospital.
The occupation army continues to target Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, especially with Israel launching a new military operation in the northern Gaza Strip on October 5, under the pretext of preventing the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) from regaining its power in the region.
