The Israeli Walla website quoted a senior Israeli government minister (Cabinet) as saying that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is interested in promoting a partial hostage deal in Gaza that does not force him to end the war.

Walla also quoted American officials as saying that US President Joe Biden stressed during a conversation yesterday, Wednesday, with Netanyahu the necessity of focusing and continuing pressure to reach an agreement regarding detainees held by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza.

Earlier, MSNBC quoted the American envoy to Lebanon, Amos Hockstein, as saying that President Biden said that “if the (Islamic Resistance) Hamas movement wants to negotiate in good faith, there is a deal that can be concluded now.”

Biden also said on Wednesday that his administration would make another effort in the coming days with Turkey, Egypt, Qatar and Israel to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, and added, “We are working to reach an agreement that guarantees the release of the hostages and an end to the war in Gaza without Hamas in power.”

This comes after the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah entered into force at dawn yesterday, Wednesday, in the hope that it will put an end to fighting that has been going on for more than a year and pave the way for a similar agreement that will end the war on Gaza.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 149,000 Palestinians martyred and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly, in one of the worst disasters. Humanity in the world.

Israel continues its massacres, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to end them immediately, and the orders of the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
