The United Nations says that the Gaza Strip has become a graveyard for thousands of children. The majority of them have lived through the shock of successive wars, in addition to the conditions of siege that they have lived in since their birth and that affected all aspects of their lives. In the last war, more than 17,000 children lost one or both parents.
In the early hours of October 26, 2023, at least 38 members of the Astal family from 3 generations, including 7 women and 20 children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on their home in the Al-Satr area, west of Khan Yunis.
