On Wednesday, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), broadcast scenes of its fighters setting an Israeli engineering force into a tight ambush west of the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.
The scenes showed the planning and preparation stage for the ambush, then targeting a Merkava tank with a Tandom anti-tank missile.
The footage also included blowing up two military bulldozers with strobe devices, then burning the second bulldozer and setting it on fire after detonating it.
One of the Al-Qassam field commanders mocked the “generals’ plan” that Israel is talking about in the northern Gaza Strip area to forcibly displace residents and impose a closed military zone.
The Al-Qassami field commander said that this ambush is “a redemption for all the martyrs of the Jabalia camp,” stressing that “Gaza was and remains a cemetery for the invaders.”
Al-Qassam concluded the video with footage of the occupation forces withdrawing from the ambush area “after being unable to withdraw the destroyed vehicles.”
Al-Qassam had announced the day before yesterday, Monday, that its fighters had placed an Israeli engineering force in a tight ambush after the arrival of a tank, a troop carrier, and two D-9 military bulldozers loaded with a number of cubes of highly destructive explosive materials to the killers of the ambush.
Al-Qassam explained that its fighters targeted the first bulldozer with a “Yassin 105” shell and the second bulldozer with a “Shawaz” device, which led to the explosion of the vehicles and explosive cubes in the advancing convoy, destroying it and leaving the crews of the Israeli vehicles dead or wounded.
On October 6, the occupation army announced the start of a new military operation in Jabalia under the pretext of “preventing the Hamas movement from regaining its power in the region.”
The Al-Qassam Brigades in Gaza have been documenting their operations against the occupation army forces and vehicles in various combat axes since the start of the Israeli ground operation on October 27, 2023, and many details about the operations carried out against the occupation forces appeared during the video clips.
It also carried out successful ambushes against the occupation army, inflicting heavy human losses on it, in addition to destroying and damaging hundreds of military vehicles.
