The killing of the commander of the 401st Brigade in the Israeli occupation army, Ihsan Daqsa, in the battles of the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip, received widespread interaction on social media platforms.
The Israeli army announced that Ihsan Daqsa was killed by an explosive device while he was outside a tank in northern Gaza. A battalion commander was also seriously injured and two other officers were slightly injured.
Israeli media said that Daqsa, the highest-ranking officer in the Israeli army, had been killed in Gaza since the start of the Israeli ground operation in late October 2023, and that there were 5 officers with the rank of colonel who were killed during the war.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the slain brigade commander as “a hero of Israel, a warrior and a leader,” adding, “He chose to devote everything he had to the security of Israel and its citizens.”
“Qassam guillotine”

Ahmed bin Khalifa said in his tweet, “The heroes of Al-Qassam, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, hunt down the commander of the 401st Brigade, the Zionist Colonel Ihsan Daqsa, in the Gaza Strip. This is the least of the response to everyone who claims the fall of Gaza and the end of the valiant resistance there.”
Abboud went in the same direction, saying, “The Gaza court sentenced him to death as retribution for the thousands of victims of his fire, along with others who went before him under the Qassam guillotine.”
Ruba commented on the killing of the commander of the Israeli Armored Brigade, saying, “Senior officer Ihsan Daksa was abusing the civilians of Gaza. The people of Gaza knew how to abuse him.”
Maha touched on the nature of the relationship between the Druze and the Israelis, asking, “Didn’t Ihsan Daksa, the Druze Arab, know that the occupation Jews gave him the title (brigade commander) so that he would be willing to sacrifice himself in Gaza while they knew it was the generals’ graveyard, or did he not know?”
Daksa (41 years old) comes from the town of Daliyat al-Carmel, which is the largest Druze community in Israel. He assumed command of the 104th Brigade about 4 months ago, and previously received the Chief of Staff Medal for his courage during the Second Lebanon War.
According to the Israeli army, Daksa led the battles in the Tal al-Sultan neighborhood in the city of Rafah in the south, then headed to Jabalia, where his forces are currently fighting.
