The Tate Modern contemporary art museum in London is hosting a gigantic installation by South Korean artist Mire Lee.

Suspended by chains and pulleys, the work explores themes of regeneration and decomposition.

Fabric sculptures, called “skins,” are hoisted on metal chains, reminiscent of coal miners’ pulley systems. A large turbine, inspired by the building’s industrial past, rotates slowly, creating a factory atmosphere.

The sound of flowing water adds to the sensory experience. The exhibition will run from October 9, 2024 to March 16, 2025.
