Experts and analysts agree that Israel received a strong blow on Sunday from the Ansar Allah group (Houthis), and that its defenses failed to confront the Yemeni missile strike, and they wondered why the Americans did not intercept the Houthi missile.

The Houthi military spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, said that their forces carried out a qualitative operation today, Sunday, targeting a military site in Jaffa with a “hypersonic” missile, while the Israeli army opened an investigation into the reason for the delay in detecting and intercepting the missile.

Saree explained that the missile covered a distance of 2,400 kilometers in 11 and a half minutes, and that it comes within the framework of what he called the fifth stage.

Military and strategic expert, Colonel Hatem Karim Al-Falahi, said that the United States of America may have deliberately allowed the Houthi missile to pass into Israel, to send a message to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which is: Where are your capabilities and abilities to confront a single missile?

He stressed that Israel’s failure to detect the missile launched by the Houthis is a serious challenge to it, especially if the Lebanese Hezbollah possesses such missiles that can reach deep into the occupied Palestinian territories within half a minute.

Without the intervention of the United States, Colonel Al-Falahi added, Israel would not have been able to maintain its internal security in the face of any external attack on it, and it relies on it to repel all attacks, whether coming from Iran, Hezbollah, or the Houthis, which reflects Israel’s failure at the level of defense systems.

For his part, Professor of Political Science and International Law, Ali Fadlallah, expressed his belief that the Americans cannot allow the Houthi missile to pass, which is a “hypersonic” missile that the Ansar Allah group announced some time ago, and is very fast, stressing that there is a technical problem in intercepting this super-fast missile.

He said that the Americans’ reluctance to intercept the Yemeni missile is related to the existence of a technical problem in intercepting this type of missile, because it is very fast, and the same applies to the country that produces it, such as Germany, France, and others.

He added that the problem with the Israelis is that they revealed most of their systems in their war on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, but the resistance forces have something to hide, and although the Houthis used it today, they may use it more than once, especially since they are talking about a fifth stage, and he wondered about the impact of using this missile on Israel from other fronts, such as Syria and Lebanon.

Fadlallah said that Israel is threatened with a barrage of these missiles if it continues its war on the Gaza Strip.

Regarding the repercussions of the Houthi strike on the internal Israeli position, the writer specializing in Israeli affairs, Ihab Jabareen, stated that targeting the capital Tel Aviv has political and military considerations for the Israelis, stressing that Netanyahu, who monopolizes security and political decisions, was more submissive to the United States after the October 7 attack, and now that he is behind closed doors, he will also be more submissive because Israel’s security is linked to the capabilities of the Americans.
