The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip launched an urgent humanitarian distress call to save two million displaced people in the Strip before it is too late and winter sets in and the displaced people’s tents deteriorate, warning of a real humanitarian disaster for the displaced people due to the approach of winter and the difficult climate conditions.

The media office pointed out that there are 543 shelter and displacement centers in the Gaza Strip, as a result of the Israeli occupation forces committing the crime of forced displacement, stressing that the number of displaced people is still flowing and increasing day after day, as the number of displaced people in general has reached from 1.9 million displaced people to 2 million displaced people in the various governorates of the Strip.

The media office explained that 100,000 tents out of 135,000 for the displaced have become unusable due to wear and tear.

He pointed out that these tents are made of wood, nylon and cloth, and have worn out with the heat of the sun and the climate conditions in Gaza, and are completely out of service, especially after 11 continuous months of displacement and these inhumane conditions.

The Government Media Office confirmed that the Israeli occupation prevented the entry of 250,000 tents into the Gaza Strip in light of this bitter reality.

He held the Israeli occupation and the American administration fully responsible for these catastrophic conditions experienced by our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

He appealed to the Arab and Islamic countries and the Gulf Cooperation Council to provide aid and tents for 2 million displaced persons, noting that these displaced persons are preparing to live in the streets without aid and without shelter due to the harsh conditions they are living and will live in during the coming months, which will have a serious impact on their lives and circumstances.

The government media figure called on the international community and all relevant international and UN organizations and global institutions to “break their silence and provide immediate and urgent relief to 2 million displaced persons who are in dire need of suitable shelter to protect them from the cold of winter and the heat of summer, and before that, pressure the occupation to stop the crime of genocide against our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.”

With American support, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, leaving more than 136,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amidst massive destruction and deadly famine.

In contempt of the international community, Israel continues the war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate halt, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
