The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip said that the attack on Mawasi Khan Yunis was carried out with highly explosive missiles in an area containing about 30 displaced people’s tents, which resulted in the martyrdom of 40 and the injury of 60.
The Civil Defense spokesman explained that the shelling of Mawasi Khan Yunis caused great destruction, and was carried out with highly explosive missiles that left three craters about 10 meters deep. He added that the area that was bombed contained between 20 and 40 tents of displaced people.
He said that the recovery operations of the victims are still ongoing, and that entire families have disappeared into the sand as a result of the massacre.
For his part, the spokesman for the Civil Defense Authority in the Gaza Strip, Major Mahmoud Basal, said that it is not possible to determine the number of victims of the bombing of the tents of the displaced in Al-Mawasi in Khan Yunis due to the continued reporting of new missing persons.
The Director of Government Communication in Gaza, Ismail Al-Thawabatha, said that the occupation bombed the cloth tents with giant American-made missiles designed to destroy mountains.
Al-Thawabta added in a bulletin with Tel Aviv Tribune that dozens of martyrs, wounded and missing people were recorded in the tents of the displaced in the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis.
For its part, the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor revealed that the occupation dropped 3 American MK 84 bombs on a gathering of displaced people’s tents in the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis.
He added that the use of several bombs with high destructive power and dropping them in the most densely populated areas of the displaced cannot be justified in any way.
The Israeli army said it had raided and targeted a number of prominent Hamas militants who were operating inside a command and control complex in a humanitarian area in Khan Yunis, according to an army statement.
The statement added that the militants worked to plan and carry out military operations against the army and the Israelis. It noted that many steps were taken to reduce the possibility of civilian casualties, and that precision munitions, aerial surveillance and additional intelligence information were used.
Hamas responds
In contrast, Hamas denied in a statement the presence of resistance fighters in the targeted Al-Mawasi area in Khan Yunis.
The movement stated that it was the occupation that declared that area “safe” and then proceeded with the acts of genocide, disregarding international or humanitarian law and with full cover from the American administration, which is a partner in the aggression against the Palestinian people, according to what was stated in the statement.
Hamas called on the international community, the United Nations, and all political, humanitarian, and judicial institutions to leave the box of silence and helplessness, and assume their responsibility to stop this holocaust that has been ongoing for 11 months.
For its part, the Islamic Jihad Movement described the massacre committed by the Israeli army as “a new war crime for which the American administration bears responsibility, as it supplies Israel with weapons and provides it with protection to continue its crimes.”
She said that what she described as the failure of international institutions, primarily the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court, to expedite their procedures by issuing arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant, is being paid for by the Palestinians.
She added that the normalizing countries’ continued reception of Israeli representatives is a stab in the back of the Palestinian people and encourages it to continue its crimes.
She said that she is counting on people like the Jordanian martyr Maher Al-Jazzy, who carried out the Allenby Bridge operation, to deliver the message to the Arab and Muslim peoples.
In the same context, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Israeli massacre in Mawasi, Khan Yunis, is a reflection of the international failure to stop the war of extermination and displacement of our people.
North Hospitals
In another context, the director of Al-Awda Hospital said that the northern hospitals need urgent relief, and that the intransigence of the occupation forces has prevented fuel and medical supplies from reaching the northern Gaza Strip hospitals, calling on international organizations to provide them with medical supplies.
The director of Kamal Adwan Hospital also held the Israeli occupation responsible for the fate of the children in the intensive care units.
For its part, the Ministry of Health in Gaza explained that the Israeli bombing increased in the northern Gaza Strip, which directly affected health services.
The ministry added that the Indonesian hospital will stop its services after 24 hours if it is not supplied with fuel. It denounced the silence regarding the occupation’s measures that expose more civilians to death.
The ministry said that the health system in the sector is being subjected to a systematic war and great destruction.
