Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant considered the current phase of the occupation army’s aggression on the occupied West Bank as “the lawn-mowing phase,” but he implicitly acknowledged his soldiers’ fear of confrontation and resorting to aerial bombardment.
This came during his assessment today, Wednesday, of the situation in the northern West Bank in light of the ongoing aggression of the Israeli occupation army on several cities and camps.
“In fact, when we mow the grass, the moment will come when we uproot it, and this must be done,” Galant said, adding, “We use airstrikes everywhere when necessary to avoid risking the lives of our soldiers. There is no other solution and we must use whatever is necessary and with all force.”
“In the face of renewed terrorism, we are eliminating the terrorist organizations throughout Judea and Samaria (the biblical name for the West Bank), and there is no other choice, to use all the forces, everyone we need, with all the force,” Galant added in a statement.
It is noteworthy that the Israeli occupation army forces have been launching an intensive military aggression on the West Bank since August 28, which they called “summer camps”, targeting Jenin, Tubas and Tulkarm in the northern West Bank.
The deserted streets of the cities of Jenin and Tulkarm were reduced to rubble as a result of the operation. According to the Ministry of Health in Ramallah, 33 Palestinians were killed during the week of aggression, while more than 140 others were injured.
Israeli attacks have escalated across the West Bank since October 7, and the Israeli army and settlers have killed at least 661 Palestinians since that date, according to the Ministry of Health.
