Military and strategic expert, Colonel Hatem Al-Falahi, expected that the military operation launched by the Israeli occupation army in the West Bank would develop and expand to other areas, in light of the ongoing military reinforcements.
He said that the military operation began in the northern West Bank, then extended to the Hebron area in the south, where it began towards Jenin, Tulkarm and Tubas, and the withdrawal from the Far’a camp and Tulkarm took place, but the occupation army returned again to this city.
Colonel Al-Falahi spoke – in an analysis of the military scene in Gaza and the West Bank – about the encirclement of areas and the sending of continuous reinforcements, which means that the Israeli military operation is continuing in Jenin and in Tulkarm, where he said that operations are escalating very significantly.
In this context, he did not rule out that the occupation army would push new sectors into the West Bank, because fighting in built-up areas requires very large sectors, pointing out that there is information indicating that it has withdrawn sectors from the northern front with Lebanon and pushed them towards the West Bank.
Colonel Al-Falahi pointed out that the Israeli occupation army is carrying out a very large-scale operation of destruction in the West Bank areas, and is restricting the access of ambulances and journalists, as if it is practicing collective punishment against the Palestinians in the West Bank areas.
On the seventh day of its military operation, the occupation army blew up houses in the middle of Jenin camp, and clashes took place between the occupation forces and Palestinian resistance fighters in Tulkarm. The occupation also cut off electricity to several areas inside Tulkarm camp, and stormed several other cities in the West Bank.
On the other hand, Colonel Al-Falahi commented on the joint operation between the Al-Quds Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement – and the Al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – which led to the sniping of an Israeli soldier on the axis of progress in the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.
He described the operation of the Saraya and Qassam Brigades as very precise, stressing that sniper operations have a very big impact on the Israeli occupation army.
