The Israeli occupation forces continue their attacks on the city of Jenin and its camp in the West Bank for the sixth consecutive day, while the occupation closed the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron.

The Palestinian Red Crescent announced the martyrdom of two Palestinians by the occupation forces in Kafr Dan, north of Jenin, and the injury of two others by live bullets inside the Jenin camp.

The Red Crescent confirmed the death of one person and the injury of another in critical condition, as a result of the occupation bombing a site where a group of young men were in the town of Silat al-Harithiya, west of the city of Jenin.

The occupation forces are besieging Khalil Suleiman Governmental Hospital and Ibn Sina Hospital, obstructing the work of rescue teams and preventing them from entering Jenin camp.

Meanwhile, an Israeli sniper targeted the press crews and Tel Aviv Tribune crew near the entrance to Jenin camp.

The occupation forces raided Palestinian homes, vandalized their property, caused damage during search operations, and arrested two young men east of Jenin.

Armed clashes

Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported – quoting local sources – hearing loud explosions in the Al-Jabariyat neighborhood in Jenin. He also reported that Palestinian resistance fighters confronted the occupation forces and clashes broke out inside the camp’s neighborhoods.

The Jenin Battalion of the Al-Quds Brigades said that it ambushed an Israeli force in the camp square, and injured Israeli soldiers.

In turn, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – announced that an Israeli infantry force had been ambushed in the al-Damj neighborhood in the Jenin camp, after it advanced toward a house in which there were resistance fighters.

A statement by Al-Qassam said that its fighters targeted the force members with an explosive device and clashed with them, killing and wounding them. They also spotted evacuation helicopters.

In contrast, the occupation army said in a statement that it targeted a group of gunmen in the town who threw explosive devices at army forces and vehicles.

In Tulkarm, the Israeli occupation forces stormed the Shuwaika suburb north of the city with a number of vehicles, patrolled its main streets, and took up positions in the Naalwa neighborhood and around the Mahdawi roundabout.

Closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque

Today, Monday, the Israeli occupation forces closed the Ibrahimi Mosque in the old city of Hebron, south of the West Bank, under the pretext of Jewish holidays.

The Palestinian Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs said that the closure of the mosque comes within the framework of what is known as the temporal and spatial division, which has permanently stolen about 36% of its corridors.

The Endowments explained that the occupation completely closes the Ibrahimi Mosque for 10 days a year, under the pretext of Jewish holidays, and deprives Palestinian worshippers of their right to worship, disregarding the feelings of Muslims and their right to worship freely and safely in their mosques and places of worship in front of the world’s eyes and ears.

Last Wednesday, large Israeli forces stormed the cities of Jenin and Tulkarm, their camps, and the Far’a camp near Tubas, before withdrawing at dawn on Thursday from the Far’a camp and the same evening from Tulkarm, in a large-scale operation in the West Bank.

Coinciding with its war on Gaza, the Israeli army expanded its operations in the West Bank and settlers escalated their attacks, resulting in the martyrdom of 679 Palestinians, including 150 children, the injury of more than 5,600, and the arrest of more than 10,400 people, according to official Palestinian data.
