Sports fans battled the heat outside Olympic venues and fan zones across Paris on Monday as the French capital experienced scorching temperatures and cloudless skies.

Although the 2024 Olympics began with rain during the opening ceremony and some competitions had to be postponed, the weather has improved in recent days.

The maximum temperature will reach 36°C on Tuesday, according to Météo France.

The high temperatures will impact not only the athletes participating in the Games, but also spectators, tourists and Parisian residents.

Météo France recommends limiting outings to the hottest hours, staying hydrated, wearing hats and using misters.

Île-de-France Mobilités announced on Monday that it would distribute two million bottles of water in more than 70 train stations and stations in its transport network, as well as in bus stations.

This initiative was launched to meet the needs of the millions of spectators at the Olympic Games.
